Claire Rayner launches construction of Extracare Village

Claire Rayner, famous 'agony aunt', visited Milton Keynes on 8 July to celebrate the start of work on the Extracare Retirement Village at Willen Park. In her speech to over 100 older people, Claire said:

"Milton Keynes Council is to be congratulated for this initiative. It's a giant step forward to provide more choice and offer greater independence and well-being to older people."

Claire, sporting an all-gold outfit, explained that she had joined the Liberal Democrats because they are the only party that is committed to providing free personal care for older people.
