Council Call for People with Physical Disabilities

Milton Keynes' Liberal Democrat Council is calling on all physically-disabled service users, carers and partnership organisations to a consultation forum to be held at the National Hockey Stadium on 15th June 2005 from 11am - 4 pm.

The aim of the forum is to involve people with disabilities in the development and delivery of the Council's services.

Highlights of the day will be presentations about the work of the Council's services over the last year and actions planned to improve services during the coming year. There will be the opportunity to contribute to workshops to make sure that your views are heard on such matters as community transport, employment opportunities for people with disabilities, carers' issues, and the development of a Physical Disability Resource Centre in the City.

Councillor Irene Henderson, Liberal Democrat cabinet member for social care said:"We want to deliver an excellent service and we can only do that if users and carers are fully consulted and involved in shaping and developing the services. This is an important opportunity for users and carers to voice their views and for the Council to benefit from the wealth of their experience and ideas to shape the service to match people's needs and aspirations."
