Don't Fuss - Use the Bus!8.30.00pm GMT Fri 26th Nov 2004 Milton Keynes Council's 'park and ride' service from the Bowl starts tomorrow - Saturday 27 November - getting you into town quickly for the Christmas season. The service will operate every weekend until December 19 with buses every 20 minutes into Central Milton Keynes. The first bus from the Bowl is on Saturday morning at 9.35 am with the last service back at 6.18 pm. On Sundays, the first bus is at 10.35 am with the last return bus at 5.38 pm. Shoppers returning to the Bowl should wait at bus stops D4 or L4. The 'park and ride' from the Coachway is already running - it started on Monday 15 November - ferrying shoppers from the east of the city direct to the shopping centre. There are buses into the centre every 20 minutes on Monday to Friday and every ten minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. During the week, early shoppers can hop aboard the first service, at 8.14 am and, stamina permitting, return on the last bus at 8 pm. On Saturdays, the buses operate between 9.34 am and 6.23 pm and on Sundays between 10.34 am and 5.48 pm. Shoppers can get buses back to the Coachway from stops X3, R3, L3 and D3. A return trip on either service costs just £1.40 and, for families, a £2 multi-fare is available, enabling up to five people to travel at the same time on one ticket. Councillor Graham Mabbutt, cabinet member with responsibility for transport, said: "We have adapted the Park and Ride service this year to meet people's needs. The service is quick and easy to use and is a reasonable price too." If you have any queries about the service, please contact MK 252401.
