Liberal Democrats Improving the Buses

6.00.00pm GMT Wed 31st Dec 2003

Since the Liberal Democrats took over the running of Milton Keynes Council there has been a steady improvement in the number of bus services introduced or subsidised by the council. These have mostly been financed by the parking income, which can only be used on transport improvements, and do not add to the Council Tax bill.

October 2003

  • Routes 3E - 5E - 10E - 26E: new evening services

  • Routes 15 and 158: early morning services

  • Routes D1 and D2, Kents Hill to CMK, and Oakhill/Medbourne to CMK: Brand new mini express mini-bus services were introduced

June 2003

Routes 1 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 19: As part of the move to improve early morning bus services throughout Milton Keynes, new bus services commenced in June. The new services ensure arrival at Milton Keynes Central Railway Station before 7.00am on weekdays and 8.00am. on Saturdays.

October 2002

  • Route 16 Bletchley to Westcroft: the first new service

  • Route 36, MK to Stoke Goldington / Northampton: improved service

  • Olney - CMK - Bletchley: additional early morning service

  • Route 14: Additional early evening services plus a regular service to Old Wolverton Road.
